Chitwan is a primitive place with lots of expensive hotels but not so many restaurants. If you stand by the river you would see many crocodiles taking sun bath.

the ground were we stand is much higher than the river so there isn't much risk having a crocodile attack. a tour guide approached us and started giving us all the amazing offers and packages. we talked to him for a while heard his prices – for a group of there people-

here are some facts: a permit to enter the national park is 1500 rupee (15$) and you can only stay until the sunset. if you want to go again the next day you pay another (15$), mmm 3 days trekking means 45$ for the permit only. of course you can't just go to the jungle by yourself you must hire a guide.

the guide talking to us offered 2000 per person for guiding (so 3500 per person total) I wasn't so sure this is a good price, its always a good idea to ask around first. of course when we said we will check and come back to him he reduced his price to 1500. when I insisted to check the chili couple had to wait as well because price would be more expensive without me. but the man went down and said even if I don't join they still get the same price. they took the deal while I waited because I am not in a hurry and also because I get suspicious when a seller becomes very pushy.

Back to my lovely river where I saw an elephant taking a bath.

At sunset the scene is breath taking.

My friends saw many things while trekking most importantly a rhino, later I went with another one for a cheaper price but saw nothing – ok I saw some things but nothing very interesting -. The one I am jealous of the most is another guy I met who said not only he saw a rhino but the rhino actually tried to attack him and his guide 🙂
